Positions in this function deliver solutions to complex business problems with consideration to business need and the capacity and limitation of associated business systems, evaluating system changes for downstream impact. This position consults on the development, specification and integration of WellMed’s enterprise systems and will analyze business needs, document requirements, write and execute test cases and plans, and oversee and participate in the testing processes. Roles in this function could also partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization. Team members will typically use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis and interpret data. If you live near San Antonio, Texas, you will enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid-remote position as you take on some tough challenges. This position follows a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week.
Responsibilities
- Captures objectives based on business unit needs combined with a thorough understanding of enterprise business systems and industry requirements
- Performs a role in the development and implementation of major systems, interfacing with multiple business units such as accounting/finance, claims, operations, physician clinics, customer service, executive management, and sales and marketing
- Uses pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within the area of expertise
- Creates, documents and visualizes processes and procedures, workflows, training materials to support business operations
- Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements
- Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
- Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses
- Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
- Conducts gap analysis, impact assessments, and feasibility studies for proposed changes
- Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues
- Coaches, provides feedback, and guides others
- Acts as a resource for others with less experience
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 3+ years of experience in developing requirements and performing system analysis
- 2+ years of experience with data analytics and reporting tools (e.g. SQL, Tableau and Power BI)
- 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: systems design, database programming experience, HL7 integration, X12 integration, EDI, practice management system implementation and support, EMR system implementation and support, Claim adjudication system implementation and support, Care Management system implementation and support
- 1+ years of experience in major systems implementation
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (I.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field
- Experience with various system development lifecycles such as waterfall, RUP, and Agile methods
- Ability to communicate ideas and problem solutions
- Ability to effectively work with both internal and external clients
- Extensive knowledge of Health Care Industry and related business functions
