Senior Engineer, Software Developer

About the position

LPL Financial LLC is seeking a Senior Engineer, Software Developer to design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems. The role involves supporting the delivery of high availability and performance using technologies such as ASP.NET, C#, Angular, jQuery, and MS SQL Server 2012+. The candidate will be responsible for translating business problem statements into technical solutions, planning sprints for quality demonstrations, collaborating with product owners and managers, conducting technical assessments of risks and issues, and coaching the team in developing appropriate technical documentation in accordance with SDLC guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems.
• Support delivery of high availability and performance using ASP.NET, C#, Angular, jQuery, and MS SQL Server 2012+.
• Use search, index, and distribute caching tools (Coherence and Apache Solr).
• Translate business problem statements into technical solutions.
• Plan sprints to deliver quality demonstrations.
• Collaborate with product owners and product managers.
• Conduct technical assessment of risks and issues, and document recommendations.
• Coach team in developing appropriate technical documentation in accordance with SDLC guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Computer Science, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• Alternatively, Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Computer Science, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• Demonstrated expertise with Amazon Web Services (container and serverless).
• Experience with front-end technologies (CSS, Semantic HTML, and Responsive Design).
• Proficiency in C#, .NET, Angular, JavaScript, and SQL Server to develop applications.
• Experience in designing and developing high-volume, low-latency cloud-native web applications services using MS SQL Server 2012+.
• Ability to translate business problem statements into technical solutions.
• Experience in coordinating sprints that deliver technical demonstrations.
• Participate in technical assessment of risks and issues, and document recommendations.
• Coordinate solution design to optimize speed to market and achieve prioritized business outcomes.
• Develop technical documentation in accordance with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) guidelines.
• Design and develop core services and components with expertise in service-oriented architecture.
