About the position

Apple Services Engineering powers beloved services like Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Podcasts, and more. Behind the scenes, our internal platforms help ensure creative and technical quality at scale. Our team builds the critical tools used to review media content before it reaches global audiences. We're looking for a senior front-end engineer who can take ownership of the web experience, bring technical depth, and collaborate across disciplines. Thanks to Apple's unique integration of hardware, software, and services, engineers here partner to get behind a single unified vision. That vision always includes a deep dedication to strengthening Apple's privacy policy, one of Apple's core values. Although services are a bigger part of Apple's business than ever before, these teams remain small, nimble, and cross-functional, offering greater exposure to the array of opportunities here.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary front-end engineer on a focused pod within a 20+ person team.
  • Build internal video and media tooling used by teams supporting Apple Music, Apple TV+, and Sports.
  • Balance UI polish with deep system understanding.
  • Navigate a complex codebase and propose UI architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with backend and product partners.
  • Explore across the stack in an environment that values technical depth and curiosity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end frameworks (React preferred, but others welcome).
  • Ability to own architectural decisions and scale front-end systems.
  • Familiarity with API integration and HTTP lifecycle.
  • Eagerness to collaborate with backend engineers (Java/Kotlin).
  • Passion for building polished, performant internal tools.
  • Experience working independently or as the only front-end lead on a project.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong communication and organizational skills in a collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with video or media playback.
  • Experience with backend development in Java/Kotlin.
  • Exposure to data modeling, working with relational or NoSQL databases.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, containerized services, or cloud environments.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical and dental coverage.
  • Retirement benefits.
  • A range of discounted products and free services.
  • Reimbursement for certain educational expenses, including tuition.
  • Opportunity to participate in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
  • Eligibility for discretionary bonuses or commission payments.
  • Relocation assistance.
