About the position

The Senior Investment Consultant is responsible for consulting with high net worth clients to help them achieve their financial and investment goals. This role involves assessing clients' financial situations, recommending suitable investment products, and maintaining ongoing relationships to ensure their needs are met. The position requires a strong understanding of investment products and the ability to communicate effectively with clients to identify opportunities for growth and investment.

Responsibilities

  • Completes a suitability review with clients to assess their financial situation.
  • Makes full disclosures required in conjunction with selling non-deposit investment products.
  • Discusses benefits and risks of investment solutions with clients.
  • Recommends suitable products and services based on client information.
  • Meets with existing clients to update them on potential investments and life changes affecting their goals.
  • Completes all client paperwork in accordance with compliance and company guidelines.
  • Receives and processes client trade orders and instructions for money movement.
  • Reviews paperwork for accuracy before forwarding to operations for processing.
  • Creates and maintains a file of all transactions at the representative's hub branch.
  • Serves as a member of the Wealth Team and attends weekly meetings.
  • Works with business partners to identify investment opportunities.
  • Assists the wealth team in achieving investment and insurance goals.
  • Maintains proper signage and brochures in office locations.
  • Looks for cross-referral opportunities within the wealth team.
  • Attends annual compliance continuing education meetings.
  • Completes required continuing education for compliance with regulations.
  • Renews insurance license annually before the deadline.
  • Complies with State Insurance and Securities regulations.
  • Contacts and qualifies prospective clients, explaining features and merits of options offered.
  • Uses a consultative sales process to determine client needs and propose solutions.
  • Anticipates future needs and calls on established clients to upgrade accounts.
  • Coordinates with bank business partners to meet with clients and assess investment needs.
  • Develops marketing and sales strategies for non-bank clients.
  • Participates in community affairs to enhance business opportunities.
  • Compiles lists of prospective clients for additional business leads.
  • Develops long-term relationships with clients.
  • Expands product knowledge and consultative selling skills through self-study and education programs.
  • Defines and maintains client service agreements.
  • Undertakes special projects to enhance sales and marketing processes.
  • Serves as a business partner to bankers and fellow financial advisors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Brokerage/Insurance and/or Banking/Retail.
  • 5+ years of experience providing investment advice to high net worth individuals.
  • Current Life and Health Insurance License in good standing.
  • Current FINRA Investment Licenses - Series 7, 63, 65/66 in good standing.
  • Proven track record of selling products that generate fee income.
  • Ability to learn and communicate all investment products and procedures.
  • Ability to identify selling opportunities for bank products and services.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
