About the position

The Senior/Principal Associate Scientist in Screening and Biochemistry at Parabilis Medicines is a lab-based role focused on enhancing the speed and scalability of drug discovery processes through high-throughput multiplexed screening platforms. The position involves optimizing and implementing screening assays, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and transforming initial chemical matter into active leads for drug development.

Responsibilities

• Develop methods that integrate biochemistry, mass spectrometry, and automation to screen peptide libraries and advance drug discovery projects.
• Extend and expand discovery platforms by developing multiplexed versions of cellular and DMPK assays.
• Collaborate with discovery teams to identify structure-activity relationships and integrate learnings into new helicon designs for hit-to-lead advancement and lead optimization.
• Accurately record experimental workflows, analyze data using analysis pipelines, and present results to project teams.
• Act as a dynamic and collaborative team member within the interdisciplinary research group.

Requirements

• MS with 5-8+ years or BS with 7-10+ years of industry experience in biochemistry, assay development, high-throughput screening, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with protein biochemistry, assay development, and screening is required.
• Demonstrated creativity, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cell biology and/or DMPK workflows.
• Experience with automation, liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry workflows.
