We’re now looking for a Senior Product Designer, Discovery & Recommendations to help craft how millions of pet parents find the products - whether that’s the right food, toy, treat, or supplement for their furry family member. As part of the Discovery Experience team, you will focus on product discovery journeys across search, browse, personalized recommendations, and intelligent product support tools. The ideal candidate has strong product design chops, understands the underlying systems that power recommendation engines and personalization tech, and thrives in a partnership and cross-functional environment.
Responsibilities
- Craft end-to-end journeys that help customers easily find what they need - from search bars to curated collections to AI-powered recommendation modules.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, business intelligence, and data science teams to develop experiences that blend user intuition with algorithmic intelligence.
- Build adaptable UX frameworks that support evolving machine learning models and a rapidly growing product catalog.
- Lead projects from concept to execution - conducting discovery, building wireframes and flows, running evaluative UXR testing when needed, producing high-fidelity visuals, and partnering on final implementation.
- Design within and evolve a scalable design system, chipping in to a cohesive customer experience across platforms and devices.
- Present your work clearly and passionately to partners, including senior leadership and C-suite executives.
- Elevate the craft of the team by sharing standard processes, sharing feedback, and championing design quality.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in UX/product design, interaction design, or information architecture.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with personalized, data-informed design experiences (e.g. ML-powered recommendations).
- Experience working on large-scale e-commerce or retail platforms.
- Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.
- Deliver design execution and influencing product, data science, and engineering partners.
- Design experience within e-commerce, product discovery, or content personalization experiences.
- Understanding of recommendation engines, search algorithms, or personalization systems.
- Strong portfolio showcasing high-impact, scalable product design work.
- Excellent visual, interaction, systems design skills.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills—especially around sophisticated or technical concepts.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and work in-office in either Bellevue or Boston hubs.
