Microsoft Quantum has assembled a talented and diverse international team to create the world’s first scalable quantum computing system. Our full-stack approach involves exciting innovation from the physics at the quantum plane to providing global quantum services. The Microsoft Quantum program strives to fundamentally change the world of computing to help solve humankind’s currently unsolvable problems. We are on the cusp of an accelerated effort in quantum computing. This position offers an opportunity to have a meaningful influence on a revolutionary technology. The research and development effort includes a diverse staff of theoretical and experimental physicists, hardware designers and software engineers around the world. We are looking for a Senior Quantum Software Engineer. This role is in a team charged with building a scalable commercial quantum computer, the first of its kind. This involves designing, implementing, and integrating system software that is responsible for the initialization and running of quantum components in real time. The candidate will help in developing and implementing novel algorithms to solve a variety of computationally hard problems. They will also be expected to collaborate with experimentalists and hardware designers on current and future designs. Work assignments will span the breadth of software, firmware and hardware subsystems.
