Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to support our Mission Systems Command, Control Communications, Cyber Intelligence and Autonomy (C4I&A) organization. This role focuses on secure software development, automation, and continuous improvement in support of critical communication and cyber intelligence programs. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, integration, and protection of software solutions that directly support C4I&A programs. You will work closely with development, security, and operations teams to ensure that security and reliability are embedded into every stage of the software lifecycle, enabling seamless delivery of mission-critical systems. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, high-performing software solutions.
  • Build and refine CI/CD pipelines to automate development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Integrate and validate software in an Agile development environment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure security, quality, and operational practices are consistently applied.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
  • Ensure adherence to Collins Aerospace development processes, security requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Proficiency in software development with secure coding practices.
  • Experience with automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development environments.
  • Knowledge of software security principles, risk mitigation, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with embedded software development in C++.
  • Proficiency in Linux, scripting (Python, Perl, Shell).
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Cloud.
  • Experience in cryptographic system design and implementation.
  • Exposure to system engineering principles and full software lifecycle execution.
  • Knowledge of hardware-software integration in real-time embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Coverity.
