Senior Software Engineer (Mobile / Flutter)

About the position

SwineTech is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer with strong Flutter experience and a passion for building practical, user-friendly apps in the real world. Our mobile platform plays a key role in supporting the daily care of hundreds of thousands of sows-so reliability, clarity, and thoughtful design matter deeply. We don't have a dedicated designer, so we're looking for someone who not only knows Flutter but has a good eye and strong opinions about how mobile apps should feel and function.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of features and improvements in our Flutter-based mobile app
• Define and advocate for mobile architecture, tooling, and design best practices
• Collaborate with backend, product, and field-facing teams to deliver solutions that work in complex, offline-first environments
• Help shape the user experience with a practical sense of design and usability
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as a Software Engineer
• 2+ years experience building mobile applications
• Significant experience building and maintaining Flutter apps in production
• Deep understanding of Dart, widget trees, state management, and performance tuning
• Ability to work with minimal design resources and deliver polished, intuitive UIs
• Strong product thinking and attention to UX in real-world use cases (e.g., low-connectivity environments, field conditions)

Nice-to-haves

• Willingness to contribute to other parts of our stack when needed (Python backend or React/Next.js web)
• Familiarity with cloud-connected mobile apps or offline-first strategies
