The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) department oversees all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support various Raytheon programs around the world. The LWMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world's toughest problems. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration, and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers. The Raytheon team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support the AN/TPY-2 missile defense program in providing world class Radar Software for our customers' wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. This role aligns to the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream, delivering high-frequency, high-quality deployments to our customers. You will be part of a dynamic workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms ensuring technical excellence in our solutions. This position is an Onsite role in Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering build to site twice a year.
  • Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with systems and SI&T engineers to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++ or Ada.
  • Experience with debugging tools for identifying and resolving software defects and optimizing code performance.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced Degree in STEM.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience on XBR, AN/TPY-2, COBRA DANE, QEWR, UEWR, SRP or other current missile defense programs.
  • Experience with radar system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance.
  • Experience working in Agile environments such as scrum, scrum at scale, SAFe and DevSecOps.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
  • Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems.
  • Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g., Bitbucket/Artifactory, Confluence, Crucible, Fisheye, Jira), Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible.
  • Experience with Script languages (C shell, Perl).
  • Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Redhat and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Experience working alone and in a geographically distributed team environment.
  • Experience working with other disciplines and communicating with all levels of the organization and stakeholders.
