About the position

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of management, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role includes managing customer interactions, handling cash transactions, and maintaining store standards. The Shift Lead also plays a key role in training team members and ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the store in the absence of management, including cash handling and system start-ups.
  • Engage with customers and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
  • Assist with product returns, order voids, and customer refunds.
  • Coach team members on customer service best practices and operational processes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with pricing changes.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Assist with exterior and interior store maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and team members, communicating tasks and reporting issues.
  • Attend training sessions and maintain required certifications.

Requirements

  • One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
