Craft a resume that recruiters will want to see with Teal's resume Matching Mode

We are seeking a skilled Software and Data Systems Engineer to join our team, replacing a key member supporting our enterprise data management and analytics platforms. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing critical systems that handle data processing, conversions, analytics, and integrations in a complex, mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both legacy and modern codebases, database administration, deployment pipelines, and cloud-based analytics tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and end-users, to ensure system reliability, resolve incidents, and implement improvements. The role demands a proactive approach to debugging undocumented legacy code, managing seamless deployments, and leveraging CI/CD processes to support production environments. This is a hybrid role that requires proximity to a major Collins Aerospace site.

  • Develop, debug, and enhance C# components (.NET 8 or .NET Standard 2.0), including backend services, desktop UI applications (WPF), web applications (with legacy JavaScript/jQuery frontends), and APIs.
  • Work with Python for orchestration and data analytics, leveraging distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark) on cloud platforms.
  • Maintain small C# web applications integrated with cloud services (Azure or similar).
  • Analyze and refactor legacy code: Identify and resolve bugs (distinguishing intentional features from errors), navigate undocumented functions, and address copy-paste code variations.
  • Manage code repositories using Git (for primary application code) and Subversion (SVN) for sensitive data assets, including sample files and legacy scripts.
  • Administer SQL Server instances: Perform tasks like data cleanup, querying beyond UI capabilities, and rare schema tweaks (e.g., index optimization, field length adjustments).
  • Manage NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB v6.x) for document-based storage, focusing on security upgrades with minimal ongoing administration.
  • Utilize SQL (e.g., Spark SQL) for analytics on cloud platforms; generate public views using data transformation tools (e.g., DBT) for analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake or similar).
  • Support data exports to enterprise data warehouses for consumption by downstream tools.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in C# (.NET 8/.NET Standard 2.0) for services, desktop UI (WPF), web apps, and APIs; experience with legacy JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Strong SQL skills (SQL Server, distributed SQL frameworks); familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) and enterprise data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake).
  • Expertise in Python for data orchestration and analytics (e.g., Spark on cloud platforms).
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, YAML), Git, and SVN.
  • Knowledge of cloud analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks), cloud services (e.g., IoT/Event Hubs, Key Vault, VMs), and data transformation tools (e.g., DBT).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud analytics platforms, and hybrid on-prem/cloud environments.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Three weeks of vacation for newly hired employees.
  • Generous 401(k) plan that includes employer matching funds and separate employer retirement contribution, including a Lifetime Income Strategy option.
