Software Development Engineer, Social Share

About the position

We are on the hunt for an engineer with a passion for crafting exceptional social sharing features at Amazon. The ideal candidate will enhance the simplicity and intuitiveness of our sharing interface, ensuring that users not only share content effortlessly but also enjoy a personalized sharing experience. Your expertise will be pivotal in integrating enhanced previews, tailoring content recommendations based on user sharing data, and elevating the overall user experience. This role is a unique opportunity to influence how users connect, share, and discover content, making each interaction within our platform more engaging and personalized in a dynamic online environment.

Responsibilities

• Take a leadership role in defining and delivering the future of sharing on Amazon.
• Collaborate closely with UX designers and product managers to optimize the sharing journey and eliminate any friction.
• Explore new opportunities to leverage valuable sharing data for social proofing and improved recommendations.
• Evaluate new sharing opportunities, define technical solutions, and manage deliverables.
• Mentor more junior engineers, influence architecture decisions, and present your work to senior leadership.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
