About the position

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Developing prototypes with state-of-the-art technology to find the best experiences for the products. Collaborating closely with user experience teams to develop new visualization technologies to support software developer experiences on Apple's platforms. Designing, prototyping, and implementing standalone applications and tools for software developers. Working closely with outreach and evangelism groups to ensure developers know how to best leverage these tools. Design and implement automated testing for new applications, tools and Xcode extensions. Working closely with Apple's Human Interface design team to define the next generation of computing. Working closely with artists, designers, and engineers to define and prove new application concepts. Designing, prototyping, and implementing extensions to Xcode, Apple's integrated development environment. Working on GPU HW pipeline and GPU performance analysis and optimizations. Working collaboratively to improve architecture and code. 40 hours/week.

Responsibilities

  • Develop prototypes with state-of-the-art technology.
  • Collaborate closely with user experience teams to develop new visualization technologies.
  • Design, prototype, and implement standalone applications and tools for software developers.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Programming with C/C++ to build applications and software frameworks.
  • Building modern 3D-rendering applications in at least one of the technologies: OpenGL, Metal, Vulkan.
  • Writing automation tools or scripts using scripting languages like Python, Shell, or Ruby.
  • Using modern algorithms to build 3D interactive applications.
  • Utilizing linear algebra and mathematical optimization to solve computational geometry problems.
  • Profiling and optimizing software.
  • Integrating APIs to build applications shipped to the public.
  • Writing unit and integration tests for production software.
