About the position
APPLE INC has the following available in Seattle, Washington. Design and develop big data pipelines and software for Apple Media Product Analytics system enrichment and adhoc reporting that power the media product analytics, enhance or create features, and improve service performance. Understand business features and convert requirement to system design and pipeline for cross functional teams. Design and develop pipeline to manage content metadata for big volume data querying. Work on optimizing data processing and pipelines to improve scalability and efficiency via pipeline runtime logging metrics and debugging. Design and implement data accuracy metrics and pipeline operation metrics for monitoring systems healthy. Design and implement Near-real-time pipelines to power downstream enrichment. Support SRE and other engineering teams on pipeline failures, data issue investigation and debugging using system logging and internal toolings.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop big data pipelines and software for Apple Media Product Analytics system enrichment and adhoc reporting.
- Understand business features and convert requirements to system design and pipeline for cross functional teams.
- Design and develop pipeline to manage content metadata for big volume data querying.
- Optimize data processing and pipelines to improve scalability and efficiency.
- Design and implement data accuracy metrics and pipeline operation metrics for monitoring system health.
- Design and implement Near-real-time pipelines to power downstream enrichment.
- Support SRE and other engineering teams on pipeline failures and data issue investigation.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- 1 year of experience with Java or Scala for data engineering work.
- 1 year of experience with Hive, HBase, Spark, and Kafka for pipeline development and big data processing.
- Experience using SQL and Distributed Relational Database for analytics engineering work in a distributed compute environment.
- Experience in distributed system troubleshooting and optimizing compute power.
- Experience in system design on data pipelines for data accuracy, completeness, and efficiency.
- Familiarity with big data platforms and tooling, both on-premise and on cloud like HDFS, AWS, S3, and Iceberg.
- Experience in communicating technical findings and customer-facing cooperation.
