One of our companies is currently looking for a Software Engineer 4 - TV & Web Player Platform in the United States. As a Software Engineer in the TV & Web Player Platform team, you will be instrumental in improving the video player experience across TV and Web devices. Your focus will be on developing and automating tests to ensure high-quality streaming, collaborating directly with external partners, and troubleshooting issues to enhance user experience. You will work alongside a cross-functional team, including UI, Encoding, Streaming Algorithms, and Security teams, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of the video player. This role offers you the opportunity to shape the future of streaming quality and playback on multiple platforms and devices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and automate tests to ensure high-quality streaming experiences on both TV and Web platforms.
- Collaborate with external browser vendors to test and validate browsers using the video player.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product features and video playback function as expected.
- Conduct A/B tests to assess new features and improve streaming quality.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to streaming media playback, ensuring consistent performance.
- Contribute to the continuous integration and release management testing of the video player.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in test development and software engineering.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with A/B testing and developing experiments is a plus.
- Familiarity with streaming media playback or video players is a plus.
