Veeco continues to grow and is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support our Software Engineering team. Responsibilities

  • Write and support C#/.Net software development by coding, debugging and testing complex application software.
  • Work with testers, developers, and operations to help reproduce and solve field and internal issues in the application, network, and environment.
  • Act as a cross functional lead to pull together software, hardware, and controls on some projects, act as the software representative for others.
  • Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and the operational and performance requirements of the overall system.
  • Analyze software requirements to determine the feasibility of a design within time and cost constraints.
  • Provide design/architectural solutions for new features to be implemented.
  • Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation of criterion for obtaining results.
  • Work in an Agile/SCRUM environment using supporting tools.
  • Must be able to travel 20% domestically and internationally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 5 years of professional experience or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience designing, testing and optimizing software is required.
  • Strong C#, .NET and OOD/OOA skills required.

Nice-to-haves

  • C++ development skills a plus.
  • Experience designing user interfaces using WPF (familiarity with WCF a plus).
  • Experience developing software for Semiconductor manufacturing equipment preferred.
