We are specifically part of Product Engineering. This is a unified team responsible for the engineering of Disney Entertainment & ESPN digital and streaming products and platforms. This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.

  • Build scalable, elegant solutions for the Disney+ Android application across a wide array of devices including phones, tablets, and TVs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain high code quality standards with unit tests, automated tests, modern libraries, and a Kotlin codebase.
  • Contribute to a large project with a huge impact and grow into a strong developer.
  • Participate in meetings and code reviews, providing valuable perspectives from a Software Engineer’s lens.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Quality communication skills who can collaborate well across teams.
  • Comfortable with Git basics.
  • Coachable and receptive to constructive feedback.
  • 1+ years of production experience with the Android SDK.
  • Experience using common Android libraries.
  • Experience with unit testing.
  • Familiar with architectural patterns (MVI/MVVM or equivalent).
  • Some experience with Reactive Programming or Dependency Injection.
  • Experience with Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Dependency Injection, Gradle, Databases, Reactive paradigms, coroutines.
