We’re searching for a Software Engineer II, Test Automation Engineering to join Aurora’s Test Automation Engineering team. The Test Automation Engineering team is a team within Aurora’s hardware organization tasked with creating and supporting test automation software infrastructure and accompanying test cases to enable hardware and firmware verification and validation (V&V) across the entire product lifecycle. Our framework is responsible for test deployment, UI, sequencing, logging, results and data visualization, and any other needs related to automated hardware and firmware V&V. Our testing use cases and customer teams include Electrical Validation, Manufacturing Test, Vehicle Integration, Hardware Reliability, and Firmware Validation. This team is composed of highly motivated and skilled software engineers from a variety of engineering backgrounds. We build and maintain a scalable, robust, and full featured automation framework, with immediate deployment and testing needs. We may move fast, but we keep an eye on the future. Our product and support will be critical to Aurora’s success as the company scales its hardware organization.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, implement, and test software framework features supporting automated electrical hardware and firmware V&V testing
  • Develop robust, shareable, reliable automated hardware and firmware test cases targeting state of the art automotive electronics
  • Proactively drive down framework and test gaps and issues, increasing reliability and test coverage for the organization
  • Model exemplary software development practices

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 2 years of proven experience in hardware/software development and test OR M.S. in relevant field
  • Highly proficient in Python programming, with demonstrated success deploying and supporting user facing applications

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in electrical hardware V&V, including manufacturing test, electrical validation, and reliability testing
  • Experience in firmware V&V, including Hardware in the Loop testing
  • Experience with cloud based CI (e.g. Buildkite) integration
  • Experience with hardware test asset management systems: automated bench reservations, deployments, health checks, etc.
