About the position

The Software Engineer II position at The Trade Desk involves fixing bugs in the TTD platform, analyzing performance, and improving software components. The role requires participation in costing, designing, and specifying requirements for features requested by clients. Engineers will engage in discussions with product managers and stakeholders to design systems and analyze project requirements. Responsibilities include collecting, storing, changing, and analyzing data for data-driven decisions, designing and modifying software systems, and building testing and validation tools. The engineer will also define and measure system KPIs, deploy software components, and build monitoring systems. The role requires independent planning and execution of projects within a 1-6 month scope, applying modern software engineering techniques and best practices without guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Fix bugs in the TTD platform.
  • Analyze performance and improve software components.
  • Participate in costing, designing, and specifying requirements of features and new functionalities.
  • Engage in discussions with engineers, product managers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collect, store, change, and analyze data for data-driven decisions.
  • Design, develop, and modify software systems.
  • Build and use models for predicting or measuring outcomes.
  • Design and build testing and validation tools.
  • Define and measure system KPIs.
  • Deploy software components and build monitoring systems.
  • Discuss software system requirements, design, and maintenance with internal customers.
  • Independently plan and execute projects and tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Two years of experience in software development engineering.
  • Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with React and Redux.
  • Experience with server-side technologies including C#, NodeJS, and SQL.
