We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the development and support of embedded software systems for aerospace applications. This role combines technical leadership, project management, and team development to ensure successful delivery of high-quality, compliant software solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in embedded systems, aerospace standards, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Lead software engineering activities for both new product development and sustaining programs within the aerospace sector.
  • Oversee the planning, allocation, and management of engineering resources across multiple projects.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as DO-178C, DO-330, and DO-331, including model-based development practices.
  • Establish and maintain engineering processes, design guidelines, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage department budgets and support ongoing technical training and development for team members.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers to support product integration and development.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing software engineering team, including local and offshore resources, contractors, and consultants.
  • Support customer integration efforts and provide technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in embedded software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience in the aerospace industry, including familiarity with regulatory standards and audit processes.
  • Strong background in C/C++ programming, embedded systems, and communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, CAN).
  • Expertise in Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), including modular system architecture design, software integration on shared hardware platforms, avionics communication protocols (e.g., ARINC 653, ARINC 429, AFDX), safety-critical software development and certification (e.g., DO-297), performance optimization and resource allocation, HIL/SIL testing and validation, troubleshooting and debugging complex systems.
  • Strong project planning and execution skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and manage complex technical projects.
