About the position

We're looking for a software Engineer to design, develop, and improve the digital products and technology services we provide to our clients and employees. You will apply a broad range of software engineering practices, from analyzing user needs and developing new features to automated testing and deployment. You will ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements. Additionally, you will build observability into our solutions, monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues. Understanding, representing, and advocating for client needs is crucial, as is sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues, helping with hiring, and contributing regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong experience in developing high performant Microservices in Java.
  • Command of Java tools, technologies and frameworks including Spring.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server and Azure SQL server.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL database technologies.
  • Experience with Cloud architecture and engineering, ideally on Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Messaging platforms, ideally Kafka.
  • Comfortable with K8S fundamentals and building and deploying services in K8S.
  • Experience with Microservice and Event-Driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Test Driven Development and DevOps practices.
  • Comfortable with Git and developing software in CI/CD fashion.
  • Comfortable in Unix and able to write bash scripts.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Keen interest in understanding how the business works.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica.
  • Experience with Unix shell scripting.
  • Experience with Job scheduling using Autosys or similar tech stack.
  • Experience with writing IAAC pipelines using Terraform.
