About the position

Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a Early Career Systems Engineer. You will participate in design, development, integration, and testing of new capabilities for several Department of Defense (DoD) products and technologies. You will use and contribute to models of real-world weapons, radars, Command & Control systems. You will independently identify and address system and software defects, demonstrate an ability to practice sound systems and software engineering discipline, and decompose complex problems to formulate solutions. In this role you will use mathematical models and simulation products to perform mission analysis, ConOps development, gap analysis, sensitivity and trade studies, system requirements validation, and performance prediction in Ballistic Missile Defense and Anti-Air Warfare mission areas.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in design, development, integration, and testing of new capabilities for DoD products and technologies.
  • Use and contribute to models of real-world weapons, radars, and Command & Control systems.
  • Identify and address system and software defects.
  • Practice sound systems and software engineering discipline.
  • Decompose complex problems to formulate solutions.
  • Perform mission analysis, ConOps development, gap analysis, sensitivity and trade studies, system requirements validation, and performance prediction.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent STEM field with 2 years experience or 0 years with a Masters Degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Java and GIT.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Linux commands.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software design and testing experience.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the SECRET level.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Agile Development Process and Atlassian tool suite or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of C++ and/or Python programming languages.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Software design, testing and debugging experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Software life-cycle development and Software configuration management using tools like Git.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and Principles.
  • Basic knowledge of Jazz and Doors.
