Software Engineer / Rails Developer

About the position

Join the core software development team at Listia, where we are building a platform that aims to become a household name. This is an exciting opportunity for a smart developer to showcase their skills by pushing code and driving product development. Experience with Ruby on Rails is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement features directly for our website.
• Start from scratch for some features and add on to others that have already been implemented.
• Own projects from start to finish.

Requirements

• Super smart software engineer who can learn new technologies & languages fast.
• Willingness to work on the entire stack from back to front.
• Ability to showcase something they have created or worked on (preferably a web app).
• Act and work as if this is their very own startup.
• Located in the Bay Area, CA required.

Nice-to-haves

• Expertise with Ruby on Rails & MySQL.
• Experience with UNIX, Javascript & version control.
• Knowledge of server maintenance/optimization/scalability, UI design & HTML/CSS.
