Responsibilities

  • Apply software engineering fundamentals to build reliable and user-friendly software solutions using modern cloud-based tools and practices.
  • Collaborate with teammates to develop and test components of Truveta’s platform, including web interfaces and backend services.
  • Participate in code reviews and learn best practices for writing clean, maintainable code.
  • Explore and contribute to proof-of-concept integrations within Truveta’s ecosystem under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Embrace curiosity and a growth mindset to learn about healthcare technology and deliver on our mission.
  • Adhere to Truveta’s principles of ethical innovation, privacy, and security, with ongoing training provided.

Requirements

  • A recent / expected graduate from a program in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related field of study.
  • Familiarity with programming in one or more modern languages (e.g.: JavaScript, dotnet, python, java) through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
  • Basic understanding of web development or backend development (e.g., HTML, CSS, REST APIs, databases, server-side logic).
  • Interest in learning about distributed systems, data pipelines, or healthcare technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn in a collaborative team setting.
  • Passion for Truveta’s mission to improve healthcare through data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with genomic data or healthcare-related projects is a plus but not required.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) through academic projects or internships is a plus.
  • Contributions to open-source projects, hackathons, or personal coding projects.
