As a Senior Software Engineer within PNC's Retail Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Birmingham, AL or Dallas, TX. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager's discretion. As a Software Engineer Senior, you will be part of an engineering team where you will be responsible for technical design and development within our Retail Technology line of business. In this role, you will work closely with our testers to address bugs or defects and propose & design solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
  • Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs.
  • Writes code, tests and deploys software.
  • Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software.
  • Maintains and debugs software.

Requirements

  • Strong functional knowledge of the debit card product lifecycle.
  • Extremely strong in COBOL/JCL programming.
  • Familiarity with Endevor, Mainframe DB2 Database concepts and VSAM files.
  • Experience working with Easytrieve to build quick extracts.
  • Experience using ZOS connect tool to build/maintain rest APIs.
  • Financial Institution experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, experience working with remote teams, managing deliverables of a team.
  • Ability to work with business and operations to understand requirements and create high level and low level designs to meet requirements.
  • Comfortable with learning new technologies not previously familiar with.
