This position is with the Advanced Development Programs Mission Control Systems Software (MCS) Team in Marietta, Georgia. The MCS team uses a wide application of modern technical principles, theories, and concepts in the software field to develop, integrate, and test open mission systems software products that can be applied to air and ground-based systems. You will be responsible for all phases of developing command and control (C2) ground and mission control software for various autonomous air vehicle platforms. Your responsibilities will span the technology development lifecycle, including requirements generation, software design, code, test, integration, and flight test. Integration activities will include various host systems, such as live assets, simulated systems, and laboratory environments that encompass constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system simulations.

  • Develop command and control (C2) ground and mission control software for various autonomous air vehicle platforms.
  • Engage in all phases of the technology development lifecycle including requirements generation, software design, coding, testing, integration, and flight testing.
  • Integrate software with various host systems including live assets, simulated systems, and laboratory environments.
  • Experience using C, C++, or Lua.
  • Experience with Windows or Linux development.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • STEM Degree (Bachelor's level or equivalent work experience) in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • Agile Software Development Experience.
  • Experience with Agile Process Tools (Jira).
  • Experience with Configuration Management Systems (e.g. Git).
  • DevOps Experience (GitLab).
  • Python Programming Experience.
  • Experience developing software for safety critical systems.
  • Experience with networking and internet protocols: IP, TCP/UDP, RTP, TLS.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as CppUnit.
  • Experience building custom Linux distros with Yocto.
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with Containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with Service-based Application Development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
