Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Software Quality Engineer Manager for our new Software Quality organization, focusing on staff in King of Prussia, PA. The Quality professional will be responsible for the strategic leadership and performance of several key areas within the Software Quality Engineering discipline. These include continuous improvement, talent development, and maintaining program alignment with AS9100 Quality Management.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage strategies to ensure the sustainment of knowledge and best practices within the Software Quality organization.
  • Oversee implementation of the software quality programs according to company and contract requirements.
  • Develop and implement processes to optimize practices that reduce risks and support continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • Technical experience in a related discipline (e.g., Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Integration & Test)
  • Proven ability to manage a team of Software Quality Engineers
  • Proven ability to manage and distribute tasks to a team
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and resolve technical issues with multiple teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Knowledge of quality systems/processes and expertise in external quality standards
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle models
  • Ability to interpret software design and code to verify the implementation of requirements
  • Experience in establishing quality assurance performance metrics for identifying process improvement
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to manage multiple programs
  • Knowledge of configuration management and control tools
  • Experience in supporting Agile/Scrum software development
  • Experience with ClearQuest, ClearCase, DOORS, and/or other Configuration Management tools
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience with code collaboration tools
  • Ability to collaborate with current MRB certification
  • Experience making Preliminary Review / Material Review Board decisions
  • Experience in test planning, processing, and nonconformance processing, including root cause analysis and corrective action development
  • Experience working with Space subcontractors and suppliers
  • Knowledge of AS9100 requirements
