About the position

As a Software Verification Engineer II in the CRM Software Organization, you will be developing and testing software applications which interface with Medtronic implantable cardiac devices and remote management of patients. We are looking for highly motivated and self-starting strong software engineers looking forward to innovating in a fun and fast paced environment with a passion to improve peoples' quality of life. The individual will operate in all phases and contribute to all activities of the software development process. This position is in Mounds View, MN. within the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) operating unit. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Software Developers and Systems Engineers to understand the specifics of the software application, firmware, hardware and the operating platform on which the application runs.
  • Participate in designing, implementing, updating, and validating automated test environments.
  • Responsible for testing all aspects of the embedded software and firmware for medical devices.
  • Design and execute tests using automated tools, as well as manual test development processes, for the verification of software requirements.
  • Develop or enhance the automated test framework and tools.
  • Learn and understand software standards for medical devices.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives for the software team.
  • Work under general direction and collaboratively with internal and external partners located across various geographies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of technical experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of technical experience.
  • Experience with embedded and mobile application development and testing on IOS and Android platforms.
  • Experience with programming languages Java and C#.
  • Experience with Appium and Automation testing frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in embedded software.
  • Experience testing software connecting to cellular networks.
  • Experience with Requirement Analysis & Requirement based testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of software design, development, debug and test practices.
  • Proficiency in two or more of the following technologies: C#, .NET, Objective C, Python, Xamarin, XML.
  • Proficiency in the following tools: Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, GIT, Microsoft Test Hub.
  • Experience in the following operating systems: Windows, Linux, Android or iPadOS.
  • Experience in software design for medical devices.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development.
