This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the office 2 days per week in Columbus, Ohio, Des Moines, Iowa, or Scottsdale, Arizona. We have a great opportunity to join the Claims and Shared Services BSA as a Specialist, Software Engineer supporting our Contact Center Shared Technologies on the Serenity Now line. This role will provide API/Web Services development for a variety of business units, with key contributions to major efforts like the migration of contact centers to the cloud. This position also allows the chance to collaborate with multiple lines to design and develop creative solutions new to Nationwide. Addressing security and vulnerabilities will also be an important aspect of this role, as well as other run responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
  • Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
  • Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
  • Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree.
  • Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript.
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves
