Become a member of our growing UX/UI practice and immerse yourself in the world of human-centric design. As a UX/UI Designer, you'll draw on your expertise in research, design thinking, service design, information architecture, interaction design and visual design to enhance holistic experiences across a portfolio of enterprise products and services. People will be at the center of your everyday work. By engaging with users and collaborating closely with stakeholders, your ability to listen, empathize, and advocate for their needs will be the driving force behind satisfying end-user experiences. In this role, you'll embark on a journey of discovery, framing problems with your creative and analytical thinking. You'll utilize research, data, and industry best practices to make strategic design decisions. You will deeply understand and champion the needs of our end users - people. Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC, Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, and Hyattsville, MD. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Bringing a point of view on data collection methods and framing of insights in order to identify problems and validate solutions through research
  • Leveraging user-centric methods to effectively orient underlying models with end-user needs
  • Illustrating ideas and understanding of foundational principles of design at an application level through prototyping, interaction design, and compelling visual design
  • Deepening expertise about the end users supported, Product fundamentals, the technology landscape at ADUSA, and the business of grocery retail
  • Collaborating with cross-functional peers on the process and approach for identifying end-user needs and solving problems with new and defined tactics from ADUSA Research & Design toolkit
  • Promoting R&D team culture, earning trust with internal network, developing influence in group settings, and beginning to support recruiting and onboarding as the practice continues to grow
  • Driving projects, asking for direction as needed to define approach, adhere to design standards, achieve intended outcomes and exhibit team values

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of UX/UI design principles and artifacts, including human-centered approaches, collaboration, user research methods, user personas, service blueprints, information architecture, prototyping, knowledge of product development lifecycle and results orientation
  • Bachelor's degree in UX/UI Design or relevant field; equivalent certifications from an accredited program in UX/UI, human-computer interaction, information science, digital media, product design, or on-the-job experience will be considered
  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience with UX/UI design
  • Experience facilitating workshops and gaining consensus among large, diverse groups
  • Proficiency in collaborative design and prototyping tools, such as Mural, Miro, Figma, Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite
  • In-depth knowledge of design research methods, user interface models, application design and website functionality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Basic knowledge of front-end languages (like HTML), computer information systems, data analysis fundamentals and data visualization tools (like Power BI)

  • Post-graduate degree, advanced training and/or certifications in relevant field(s) of study
  • 1 or more years of experience in Agile teams and/or product-based operating model
