The MassLINKS Part-Time ESOL Instructor participates in and contributes to the design of and delivers instruction for the MassLINKS Adult Education Online Academy at MWCC. The instructor possesses a deep understanding of current theories and principles of second language acquisition and applies this knowledge to promote English language development, academic preparation for postsecondary enrollment, and enhanced employability for second language learners. The instructor provides rigorous, remote synchronous and asynchronous, standards-based instruction aligned to the Massachusetts English Language Proficiency Standards for Adult Education. They implement evidence-based instructional strategies and align professional practice to the Massachusetts Professional Standards for Teachers of Adult Speakers of Other Languages. The instructor delivers high-quality instruction that supports the acquisition of foundational English language skills, academic skills for post-secondary enrollment, digital literacy skills, and workplace readiness skills. They work cooperatively with program staff and administration to ensure the social and emotional well-being of students and the development of critical personal, career, and academic skills. The instructor participates in MassLINKS Student Success Team Meetings, reviews diagnostic assessment results to inform instructional planning, and delivers formative and summative assessments to measure student learning and academic progress. They collaborate with personnel at MWCC and community colleges statewide, the MassHire North Central Career Center, and regional and statewide partner agencies to ensure students are connected to all supports needed to enhance their success and prepare them for transition to post-secondary enrollment and/or workplace success.
