About the position

The Sr. Life Science Product Manager will champion the growth of portfolios, driving revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction goals. This role includes introducing new products and capabilities, collaborating cross-functionally with Marketing and Sales to implement effective go-to-market strategies, and overseeing all product management responsibilities for a growing portfolio. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining strategic relationships with customers, suppliers, commercial teams, and industry leaders, as well as ensuring project completion in partnership with operations and customer service teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drives revenue growth through strategic portfolio expansion to both find new products and resource current products to enhance our competitive position.
  • Negotiates private label and contract agreements with exclusive rights, to expand unique, proprietary, and private label products for the business.
  • Monitors and analyzes sales, gross profits, and other metrics for the product lines making any necessary adjustments in the product line plans to meet goals and objectives.
  • Develops and implements appropriate and effective pricing strategies by channel to maximize the end-to-end margin.
  • Defines product lifecycle, positioning, pricing, go-to-market, and new product strategies based on a deep understanding of market trends, market segmentation, customer needs, technologies, competitor products and business unit goals.
  • Collects voice of customer (VOC) information and maintains relationships with key external and internal customers to inform new product introduction and go-to-market strategies.
  • Works cross-functionally to ensure that revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and growth goals are achieved.
  • Manages operational processes for new product introductions and product lifecycle management, including product setup, data management, cross-functional coordination, and phase-in/phase-out planning to ensure seamless market availability and alignment with business objectives.
  • Forecasts sales and prepares budgets to guide operations planning and build financial models for new product introductions and initiatives.
  • Trains the go to market teams on our product features and benefits as needed and provides ongoing support for customers.
  • Collaborates with customers and internal teams to identify needs and develop innovative solutions.
  • Supports the creation of user documentation and sales tools, ensuring clear communication of product benefits.
  • Develops go-to-market strategies and assists sales and marketing teams in creating compelling messaging.
  • Monitors competitor activities and market trends, identifying opportunities for product differentiation.
  • Conducts market research and analyzes trends to inform product development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field, advance degree a plus.
  • 8+ years of product management experience, preferably in life sciences or related fields.
  • Proven ability to translate customer needs into product requirements and guide development.
  • Contract negotiations with detailed and complex terms in such areas as pricing, delivery, support, and services.
  • Experience developing strategies with Sales and Marketing to drive market share growth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Teams, strong Excel skills, experience with other business management software is a plus.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Works efficiently within deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
