The Sr. Manager Software Development & Engineering will lead a team of developers who deliver projects supporting the PSaS Distribution Services organization. They will manage large cross-functional Supply Chain and WMS software development projects through all lifecycle phases, including design, development, testing, implementation, support, and evaluation.

  • Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for external technology resources.
  • Collaborate with management on technology strategies and project prioritization.
  • Provide input to department managers regarding resource needs.
  • Identify process improvements and implement solutions.
  • Mentor junior software engineering staff.
  • Develop and maintain project plans; track progress and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Review project plans and schedules for accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate project status to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate standards for software development methodologies, tools, and platforms.
  • Keep abreast of new technological developments.
  • Work closely with product management and marketing to understand customer needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Typically has 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and languages (e.g., RPG).
  • Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.
  • Expertise in data storage subsystems, data modeling, and SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices in development, testing, and deployment.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) processes and tools.
  • Strong leadership skills, including ability to motivate teams, manage conflict, and drive initiatives forward.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and create innovative solutions.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
