About the position

The Purchase Order Forecasting team at Amazon is looking for a passionate, visionary Sr. Product Manager-Tech to shape how we provide vendors with advanced visibility of Amazon's orders and ensure we are able to purchase the right items at the right time and at the right price to delight our customers. If you are excited by the challenges of building large-scale, innovative supply chain solutions for some of the most complex problems in the industry, this may be a good fit for you. Our team is part of the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization. SCOT owns Amazon's global inventory sourcing & planning systems. We decide what, when, where, how much and from whom we should buy to meet Amazon's business goals and to make our customers happy. We do this for millions of items, for hundreds of product lines worth billions of dollars of inventory world-wide. Our systems are built entirely in-house and are on the cutting edge in automated large scale supply chain sourcing, planning and optimization systems.

Responsibilities

  • Building and managing high quality product roadmaps
  • Gaining support for your strategy and roadmap from stakeholders by writing narratives and influencing peers and senior leadership
  • Creating program goals and related metrics, tracking progress and managing through obstacles to achieve your objectives
  • Communicating performance, executing and articulating root-cause analysis and linking to specific improvement areas
  • Executing launches of new features
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to define product strategy
  • Promoting data-driven decision making throughout the team
  • Addressing barriers through problem solving and coordination with stakeholders
  • Partnering with other teams across Retail and Supply Chain to identify and influence development of new products and services
  • Acting as an ambassador for SCOT
  • Sharing best practices with other Amazon teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
