About the position

The Sr. Program Director at Elbit Systems of America is responsible for leading major business programs throughout their lifecycle, ensuring successful execution in terms of cost, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role involves close customer relationships, strategic planning for new business opportunities, and mentoring program managers to achieve excellence in program execution. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a large portfolio of programs with significant financial impact.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and inspires cross-functional teams to achieve successful execution of company programs.
  • Develops strategic plans considering market trends and customer needs.
  • Builds and maintains close relationships with domestic and international customers.
  • Inspires and leads high-impact change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Plans for future staffing requirements and mentors subordinates for efficient personnel utilization.
  • Acts as the principal point of contact with major customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Conducts periodic program status review meetings with customers and execution teams.
  • Ensures Program Managers have robust cost and schedule baselines for their programs.
  • Plans and executes programs per contractual obligations, managing multiple suppliers and organizations.
  • Coordinates design for manufacturability efforts and ensures smooth transition to production.
  • Leads high-level technical discussions to meet all technical requirements.
  • Benchmarks processes to best practices and explores new concepts for innovative solutions.
  • Wins new business by developing effective marketing and proposal strategies.
  • Influences contract negotiation strategies to achieve financial objectives.
  • Reviews risk analyses and earned value management reports to anticipate problems.
  • Prepares forecasts of new business, sales, and gross profit for annual operating plans.
  • Reviews and approves all contract changes with attention to cost, schedule, and risk elements.
  • Incorporates the ESA Quality Policy into product development and delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required (5-10 years functional experience may substitute)
  • Master's degree preferred
  • PMI Certification preferred
  • 12+ Years Functional Experience required
  • 5-10 Years Management Experience
  • 12+ Years Industry Experience
