About the position

The Sr. Project Manager in the Office of the Dean at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities plays a crucial role in managing and advancing strategic projects, processes, and initiatives that support the College of Continuing and Professional Studies (CCAPS). This position involves overseeing the operations of the dean's office, providing administrative support, and developing subject matter expertise in designated areas. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders across the university, ensuring alignment with university goals and priorities while maintaining a high level of integrity and discretion in sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage processes and contribute to improved systems that serve the academic oversight role of the Office of the Dean.
  • Work closely with the leadership team on college-wide projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Strategically partner with the College leadership team and other university stakeholders on projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate CCAPS-wide meetings for strategic planning, budget analysis, program lifecycle management, and new initiatives.
  • Develop strategic communications plans for the CCAPS Dean's office in partnership with marketing and communications teams.
  • Coordinate CCAPS-wide reporting, strategic planning, and budget performance analysis.
  • Oversee and direct all day-to-day operations of the dean's office.
  • Manage temporary employees and participate in fiscal activities for the college budget.
  • Identify and respond to complicated inquiries and projects related to strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate day-to-day oversight of general office operations.
  • Track and manage expenses and budgets related to the dean's office and college-wide projects.
  • Lead operational planning for large-scale meetings and events, such as Dean's Town Halls and receptions.
  • Plan and staff meetings, forums, and other events that advance the Dean's agenda.
  • Manage complex scheduling and travel arrangements for the Dean.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Dean, drafting and editing correspondence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience; or Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, including effective writing in various formats.
  • Project management and event planning experience with a track record of completing projects on time.
  • Collaborative experience in leading major initiatives with a broad community of stakeholders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships and partnerships.
  • Commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion with experience across diverse constituents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google products.
  • Familiarity with the University of Minnesota or similar higher education institutions.
