Medtronic is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sr. Software Tools Engineer to join our Cardiac Ablation Solutions Software team. In this role, you will play a critical part in enhancing and streamlining our software development, testing, and quality assurance processes. You will develop a variety of tools, scripts, and dashboards to support the team's workflows, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and quality throughout the product development lifecycle. The Sr. Software Tools Engineer will be an integral member of the Cardiac Ablation Software Team, working on cutting-edge technology in the electrophysiology field. This role offers a rare chance to be at the forefront of helping develop a groundbreaking technology that can disrupt the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain custom tools and scripts to support software development, testing, and maintenance processes.
  • Automate workflows and processes involving tools such as JIRA, Polarion, Matrix, and TestRail to optimize team efficiency.
  • Develop and implement custom dashboards to monitor and assess product quality and progress during development.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, quality assurance, and technical leaders, to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing tools and processes, driving innovation and efficiency across the team.
  • Generate automated reports and test protocols that provide actionable insights into software performance and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Medical device software development, IEC-62304 and FDA guidance in a technical discipline, preferably software related.
  • Proven ability to automate processes and workflows in a collaborative development environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Experience working with tools like JIRA, Polarion, and TestRail, including API integration and automation.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++/C# or similar languages.
  • Strong understanding of good documentation practices.
  • Experience with software version control systems, such as Git.
  • Experience with HTML, Flask, and Nginx.
  • Experience with Agile development.
  • Strong work ethic and entrepreneurial drive.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
