About the position

Sam's Club is seeking a strategic and data-driven Staff Product Manager to lead initiatives within our Catalog and Item Management Team. This role is pivotal in shaping the way members discover, interact with, and purchase products across our digital and physical channels. You will drive innovation in item setup, enrichment, categorization, and lifecycle management-ensuring our catalog is accurate, scalable, and optimized for member experience and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Make Data-Driven Product Decisions - Leverage data tools and analytics to uncover catalog trends, improve item accuracy, and define success metrics in partnership with engineering and analytics teams.
  • Drive Customer & Member Needs - Identify and address member pain points in item search and selection. Enhance catalog experiences through journey mapping, process simplification, and content quality improvements.
  • Own Product Roadmap & Development - Prioritize features that streamline item onboarding and enrichment. Lead MVP rollouts and align cross-functional teams.
  • Define Product Vision & Strategy - Test hypotheses through rapid experimentation and explore emerging tech like AI/ML for item classification. Communicate strategy and impact clearly.
  • Foster Stakeholder Alignment - Build consensus across merchandising, supply chain, and tech teams. Present data-driven recommendations and foster collaboration through clear communication.
  • Champion our Culture & Ethics - Promote inclusion, support outreach initiatives, and foster a respectful, high-performing team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 7 years' experience in product management.
  • 9 years' experience in product management or related area.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 6 years' experience as a product manager.
  • Experience working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
