About the position

GoFundMe is seeking a Marketing & Messaging Product Manager who believes in the impact of GoFundMe and is passionate about our mission to help people help others. We are seeking a strategic and tenured Product Manager to power our marketing and customer engagement platforms while also building our first user to user messaging system. As a Marketing & Messaging Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in using communications to drive the success of the campaign organizers, donors, and nonprofits we support, powering thriving communities of help.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a product strategy that prioritizes features and capabilities that maximize value for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with your engineering squad to translate complex technical concepts into clear product requirements and roadmaps.
  • Work with Engineering to ensure that key initiatives get done well and on time and that the domains for which you are responsible are well supported.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, primarily engineering and product management to ensure alignment and buy-in.
  • Leverage data and analytics to measure platform performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and inform product decisions.
  • Understand the needs of both internal and external customers, and translate those needs into actionable product requirements and outcomes.
  • Identify and solve complex problems, often requiring creative and innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in marketing and messaging systems, including email, push notifications, SMS, and in-product messaging.
  • Strong understanding of the underlying engineering, data, and design systems that power marketing and messaging.
  • Track record of shipping impactful product features and deep subject matter expertise.
  • 5+ years of relevant product management experience.
  • Ability to deliver on project-related aspects of your product (time, quality, resources, and scope).
  • Technical understanding of engineering and data to direct and facilitate processes.
  • Ability to mobilize others and execute through efficient collaboration across teams and business areas.
  • Customer-first mindset, understanding and empathizing with customer experiences.
