About the position

The Sustainability Advisor role focuses on leveraging digital technologies to assist Fortune 500 companies in transforming their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs. This position combines business strategy with digital technology expertise, particularly in ESG software solutions like Salesforce Net Zero Cloud. The advisor will engage with senior ESG stakeholders to recommend optimal data management strategies and software solutions that enhance ESG KPI calculations and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing conversations around digital technology solutions, including ESG software solutions and data management strategy.
• Develop highly strategic deliverables that guide Fortune 500 clients in their ESG initiatives.
• Serve as the domain expert for ESG software solutions to Fortune 500 ESG leaders.
• Understand client pain points and recommend digital solutions that meet their needs.
• Encourage innovative solutions and foster a collaborative communication environment.
• Support business development and sales teams in formulating value propositions around ESG software solutions.
• Develop partnerships with ESG software solution providers to enhance offerings.
• Collaborate with Cognizant's sustainability team to create reusable assets and thought leadership in the ESG space.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with ESG software solutions, especially Salesforce Net Zero Cloud.
• Understanding of industry-leading ESG software solutions like IBM Envizi and Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability.
• Experience with systems architecture and designing scalable solutions.
• Experience with data integration tools and integrating Salesforce with business systems.
• Proven success in engaging with clients and development teams to identify digital technology opportunities.
• Client-focused, detail-oriented, organized, and an independent thinker.
• Working knowledge of the GHG Protocol and carbon emissions reporting frameworks.
• Experience influencing across organizational levels, including senior management.
• Exceptional listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in Agile and waterfall technology deployments.
• Over 5 years of professional experience in the sustainability technology sector.
• Active Salesforce certifications, such as Net Zero Cloud Accredited Professional.
• BS or MS in electrical engineering, computer science, environmental engineering, or related fields; MS/MBA preferred.
