About the position

The Team Lead (TL) position assists the General Manager (GM) in managing hotel operations on a daily basis to ensure optimal performance and continuous improvement in Key Performance Indicators, aiming for 100% guest satisfaction. The TL resolves guest and associate issues and performs various duties to enhance efficiency and profitability in property management. The TL also assumes the GM's responsibilities when necessary and ensures safety and security procedures are adhered to according to company guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates and promotes a 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for guests.
  • Assists the GM in ensuring associates drive company initiatives to increase revenue and satisfaction.
  • Trains associates on company standards and job performance expectations when the GM is unavailable.
  • Upholds and enforces company standards and policy compliance at the hotel level.
  • Monitors in-house guest balances and direct bill receivables, commission payments, and refund checks.
  • Monitors monthly inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring purchases are within budget.
  • Serves as the first level of contact for guest service issues, resolving them or escalating to the GM as needed.
  • Promotes compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety and security issues.
  • Instills a 100% guest satisfaction objective to hourly associates.
  • Assists with sales-related activities to increase occupancy and supports the GM in seeking potential business.
  • Provides relief or back-up duties as needed, including front desk coverage and housekeeping.
  • Inspects guest rooms and monitors social media for timely responses.

Requirements

  • Prior hotel experience is required.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid English skills for effective communication with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Ability to operate property management system technology.
  • Basic math skills for handling units of measure and financial transactions.
  • Supervisory skills to oversee daily activities of 8 to 15 hourly staff.
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities for peak operational efficiency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous supervisory experience is desired.
