About the position

The Technical Onsite Support role involves providing hands-on technical assistance and support for desktop, network, and datacentre equipment. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to assist end users with various IT-related issues, ensuring smooth operation of hardware and software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support for network and datacentre equipment/devices.
  • Install and troubleshoot Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 7, 10, and 11).
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Perform desktop support including hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Repair PC and laptop hardware, achieving HP Repair Certification.
  • Support desktops, workstations, notebooks, printers, and handheld devices.
  • Assist with audio/video equipment and conference room setups.
  • Create user accounts in Active Directory and manage Exchange mailboxes and distribution lists.
  • Utilize remote desktop connectivity applications for support and escalations.
  • Troubleshoot mobile device setup and performance issues for Blackberry, Android, and iOS devices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1.5 years of hands-on experience as deskside/onsite support or local IT engineer.
  • Experience in providing hands-on support for network and datacentre equipment.
  • CCNA or equivalent experience/knowledge.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Operating System installation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in troubleshooting Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong desktop support knowledge including hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • PC/laptop hardware repair experience with the ability to achieve HP Repair Certification.
  • Basic understanding of audio/video equipment and conference room setup.
  • Experience with user account creation in Active Directory and managing Exchange mailboxes.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop connectivity applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Good documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including MS Project and Visio.
  • Ability to handle unforeseen situations.
  • High level of acceptance in customer interactions.
