About the position
TEMPORARY WAREHOUSE LEAD FUN.com is the home of HalloweenCostumes.com and, of course, FUN.com. We sell and ship all types of products to people all over the world and we do so in a slightly offbeat fashion. And we like it that way! FUN.com wants you: an energetic, dynamic, fantastic individual to be in our Shipping department. You will help pick and pack orders, and then send our costumes, shirts, gifts, toys, and other products all around the world! It’s like being Santa Claus – only not really like Santa at all. During our peak season, you will be tasked with helping lead and train seasonal staff. We are seeking a motivated and experienced candidate who has excellent computer skills, previous experience in a lead or trainer role, and a strong understanding of warehouse operations. You must be comfortable communicating with employees and giving basic feedback while being able to plan out your days to set the team up for success. In addition to covering the day-to-day roles within our warehouse, we’re looking for somebody with a strong passion for making continuous improvements and enjoys NERF gun fights. That last part is optional, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt. Do you like to remain active at work? Do you like Halloween more than a grown person should? Responsibilities
- Oversee specific areas of the shipping process, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to company standards
- Support team members in performing warehouse tasks
- Work closely with Supervisor and Managers to ensure smooth and efficient operations, including resource allocation and workflow optimization
- Assist with training of temporary staff during peak season
- Drive engagement by creating an environment where people are motivated to do their best
- Utilize computer systems effectively to track shipments, manage inventory, and generate reports
- Maintain, promote, and enforce cleanliness and organization of department
- Balance and track the supply of warehouse materials on hand and inform facilities when they are running low
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure accurate procedures according to company policy
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience leading and training employees in a leadership position
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in navigating internet browsers and Microsoft Office
- Must maintain a punctual, regular, and consistent attendance
- Fantastic verbal and written communication skills
- A positive, upbeat spirit
- Ability to remain calm and practice patience in a fast-paced work environment
- Maintain flexibility to cross train and work in other OPS departments as needed
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Ability to stand on your feet for the duration of a shift
- Some weekends and extended availability during peak will be required
