About the position

The Traveling Superintendent at Dickinson Cameron Construction is responsible for overseeing luxury retail and restaurant projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This role involves supervising subcontractors, managing safety protocols, and maintaining quality control throughout the construction process. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retail and restaurant construction, particularly in luxury settings, and will play a key role in client satisfaction and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver projects on time and within budget while exceeding client expectations.
  • Supervise subcontractors on-site at all times.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and develop comprehensive project execution strategies.
  • Ensure quality control throughout the project duration.
  • Oversee daily field operations as the Job Site Safety Manager to ensure site safety and cleanliness.
  • Coordinate and schedule work for subcontractors to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain open communication with the Project Manager and update project schedules accordingly.
  • Document daily job reports, safety reports, and incident reports accurately.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for labor and miscellaneous expenses during projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in retail/restaurant construction required.
  • Experience with luxury retail, corporate interiors, or fine dining preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience managing safety on job sites.
  • Experience managing and directing 30+ tradesmen.
  • OSHA 30 certification required (must be within 5 years from current date).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and construction management software like Plangrid.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
