The Tactical Software and Autonomy Solutions (TSAS) team at i3 supports DoD customers in developing cutting-edge autonomy software architectures to distribute autonomous control across a diverse assortment of uncrewed air, ground, surface, and subsurface platforms. The team is seeking a mid level UI/UX Designer with 3 to 10 years of experience to support a web-based virtual development and simulation environment. This is a new project leveraging a modern tech stack and architecture being developed in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Gov Cloud.

  • Work with an Agile software development team delivering value to a DoD customer in small, incremental iterations.
  • Interface with customers to design the user interface to be developed by the software team, including user interface reviews with representative customer sets, development of mockups, and validation of end results.
  • Work with Technical Writers as a Graphic Artist to draw figures for manuals and create logos for use by DoD customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Position Location: In office in Huntsville, AL.
  • CONUS Travel required: Less than 20%.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Active Secret Clearance preferred; candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance prior to start.
  • Have a Bachelor's degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred).
  • 3-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Candidate must be a team player and be creative, adaptive, and excited to learn.
  • Candidate will develop user experiences using tools like Figma.
  • Candidate will develop and execute user review studies.
  • Candidate will create graphics, including military style logos.
  • Routine collaboration with team members in developing system capabilities is expected.
  • Candidate must be familiar with good user interface design principles and be experienced with customer communication to collaboratively develop user facing web elements.
  • Experience with the Adobe creative suite including Illustrator and Figma.
  • Experience with the design and execution of customer feedback events.
  • Experience developing military style logos.
  • Experience creating graphics for technical manuals.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Experience working on DoD projects is a plus.
