About the position
The UI/UX Developer will be responsible for designing and implementing responsive web application user interfaces using JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, and JQuery. The candidate will design and develop wireframes or prototypes based on requirements and validate the design with users. They will develop mobile and cross-browser compatible responsive front-end interfaces using the latest frameworks like Bootstrap or Angular. The role involves working with the application team to ensure compliance with UI/UX guidelines and standards, as well as developing and overseeing the UX/UI domain practice within the Data and Reporting group. The developer will translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences, measured and tied to key KPIs. They will use high and low fidelity design tools to deliver appropriate interface designs, including prototypes, mockups, wireframes, user stories, and user journeys optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces. The position requires making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and forthcoming functions and features, maintaining a consistent user interface across all product offerings. A user-centered design approach is essential, with rapid testing and iteration of design solutions, and participation in usability testing. Collaboration with other team members and department stakeholders, including Business Analysis, UI Engineering, and Client Support, is also a key aspect of the role.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement responsive web application user interfaces using JavaScript/CSS/HTML5/JQuery.
- Design and develop wireframes or prototypes based on requirements and validate the design with users.
- Develop mobile and cross-browser compatible responsive front-end interfaces using latest frameworks like Bootstrap or Angular.
- Work with application team to ensure compliance with UI/UX guidelines and standards.
- Develop and oversee the UX/UI domain practice within the Data and Reporting group.
- Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences tied to key KPIs.
- Deliver appropriate interface designs including prototypes, mockups, wireframes, user stories, and user journeys optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
- Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and forthcoming functions and features.
- Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate design solutions.
- Drive and participate in usability testing.
- Collaborate with other team members and department stakeholders.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
- Five (5) years of experience in designing and developing web applications, mobile applications, and cross-browser compatible responsive front-end interfaces.
- Five (5) years of experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Node.js, JavaScript, and JQuery.
- Extensive experience using latest frameworks in JavaScript, Angular, and CSS.
- Extensive working knowledge of JavaScript, JSON, REST, XML, and scripting languages.
- Experience in creating wireframes and prototypes using latest UI/UX products.
- Experience in Data Visualization Dashboards and Reports.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Angular 6 / Angular 7 including UI Performance Optimization such as PageSpeed Insights, Webpagetest.org, and Chrome dev tools.
- Experience in Federal and/or State health and human services (HHS) programs such as SNAP, TANF, WIC, EBT, Medicaid, CHIP, Child Support, Care Management, EHR, and Child Care.
