About the position

You know that a good website is more than just the code, infrastructure, and a nice-looking interface - it's the way it addresses a user's needs. As an experience designer, you have can put yourself in the user's place and design the best way for them to engage. We're looking for someone creative like you to craft the ultimate user experience. In this role, you'll work closely with the product manager on your team to understand your clients' vision and their users' needs. Working on an agile team, you'll build skills in designing large-scale digital experiences that are as intuitive as they are aesthetically pleasing. You'll be involved with the full spectrum of the digital creative process, including design, front and back-end development, prototyping, data visualization, prototyping, client interface and delivery. Your experience will help you advocate for the prioritizations of design-centered changes, refinements, and improvements, all the while keeping the end-user at the center of your work. Help our clients meet their mission by creating state of the art interactive websites, that inform and engage at the highest possible level.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the product manager to understand clients' vision and users' needs.
  • Design large-scale digital experiences that are intuitive and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Engage in the full spectrum of the digital creative process including design, development, and prototyping.
  • Advocate for design-centered changes and improvements.
  • Create interactive websites that inform and engage users.

Requirements

  • Experience in visual design.
  • Experience with Front End Architecture, InVision, Sketch, UX design, UI design, UI Prototyping, web design, Node, VSCode, Git, Python, Anaconda, React, and web development.
  • Experience with user research, information architecture, wireframing, rapid prototyping, and interface design.
  • Knowledge of end to end development.
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment with aggressive project timelines.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and XD.
  • Experience with delivering, supporting, and marketing design components to the federal government.
  • Experience with 3D products in Web Environment.
  • Knowledge of World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 compliance.
