About the position

The Web Manager/Designer at the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) at Rutgers University is responsible for developing and managing the main SAS websites and over 120 other site designs. This role involves ensuring that the websites meet user needs and institutional goals while maintaining brand standards. The position requires independent work on large-scale website projects, collaboration with design and social media teams, and analysis of web metrics to enhance the school's online presence and reputation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Rutgers website and brand standards across all SAS websites.
• Lead website migration projects as needed.
• Work independently on large-scale complex website projects, overseeing content and design.
• Collaborate with the central SAS design and social media team to enhance marketing strategies.
• Collect and analyze web metrics such as visits, time on site, click-through rates, and user engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of full-time professional experience in project management and strategic planning.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in building and maintaining websites.
• Strong project management skills, preferably in storytelling, advertising, and marketing.
• Established record of effective collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience using web tools and software for website analysis and improvement.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Five years of full-time professional experience in project management and strategic planning.
• Experience in higher education or nonprofit industry.
• Knowledge of HTML and website software.
• Knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices.
